Fifth Grade – Mrs. Kelly Szlak-Aimone

Kelly Szlak-Aimone

Welcome to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity!

My name is Kelly Szlak-Aimone, and I will be teaching Fifth Grade this year.

I have received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University. In addition, I have endorsements to teach Middle School Language Arts and Social Science on my teaching certificate. I also have a Minor in History.

The 2021-2022 school year will be my nineteenth year of teaching during which time I have taught third through eighth grade. I am a Certified Catechist for the Archdiocese of Chicago as well as a Eucharistic Minister. I spent the first four years of my teaching career at Burr Oak School in Calumet Park.

With the birth of my son, my husband and I joined the St. Cornelius School and Church where I taught for nine years. I was then selected to join the newly merged Pope Francis Global Academy where I taught for four additional years.

From a young age I knew that I was being called to teach. My stuffed animals were my students, and my sister was my co-teacher. The “call to teach” continued to grow as I attended St. Peter Catholic School in Skokie. I loved the support I found at St. Peter, and it became “a second home.”

Confirmation fortified my decision to pursue a future in education as the Bishop himself revealed to me these words: “Go then, Kelly. Go, and teach the children of the world.”

As a mother and wife, I know how important it is to have harmony within our homes. As we join together this year as a “new family,” know that I am here to provide the best education I possibly can for your child. I treat my students as if they were my own. I will push them to reach their absolute best with laughs along the way.

It is my sincere hope that your child will find their “second home” here at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity.
