I am Mrs. Mary Ellen Gold, 2nd Grade teacher at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity. I am excited for the upcoming school year, as we come together into one parish, one church and school community.
I have been teaching for over 35 years in grades one through four. For the last twenty years, I have been at St. Tarcissus/PFGA. I also taught on the Near West Side at Holy Family School, in Uptown at St. Thomas of Canterbury School, and in Logan Square at St. John Berchmans School. My experiences in these wonderful, unique communities helped me grow into the teacher I am now.
I live with my daughter, a college senior. She is a graduate of St. Tars and Resurrection High School. Watching her grow has increased my appreciation of a Catholic school education.
I love music and theater. I’ve been a part of a parish theater group for years, both as a member of the cast of several productions and working behind the scenes for others. I enjoy listening to many kinds of music and singing, and I sing with a church contemporary choir.
The opportunity to share God’s gift of faith is extremely important to me. I hope to continue to be an active parishioner of (soon to be) St. Elizabeth of the Trinity.
Teaching allows me to share myself with others and to learn from my students and their families. I am looking forward to working with students, parents, and colleagues in the new school year.
