Dear Parents,
As we begin the 2nd Trimester of the school year this week, there is a lot going on over the next few days!
This Thursday afternoon/evening and Friday morning are Parent/Teacher/Student conferences.
If you have not signed up, please do so ASAP. The site will be closing Thursday at 8:00AM so any changes after that will have to be made through the office. Fall conferences are mandatory so every parent should sign up – junior high parents can sign up to visit with one teacher or several if schedules allow. Click Here For November 2021 Conference Sign-up.
Remember school is dismissed at 11:30 on Thursday and there is no school on Friday.
I apologize for the late notice, I forgot that last year conferences were zoom, but we highly encourage your students to attend conferences. These conferences are about them – their strengths and areas for improvement – and nothing that is being said cannot be said in front of your student.
We want them to hear about the great things they are doing in school as well as what to work on. You, your student and your students’ teacher are a team and we want all team members present! I understand if your child cannot attend this time, but please keep this in the back of your mind for future conferences, as some of you have many more to attend!
Next Monday, students will participate in an All-School Service project. Members from the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be sharing a little about homelessness in our area with students. After the presentation, students will be making or packing sandwiches for the homeless as well as making cards for them.
We have broken up the students into three groups in order to present material that is age appropriate. Each group of students will spend approximately an hour and a half working on this service project.
Below is a link to a letter about how to talk to your child about homelessness as well as a link to a video we will be showing all the students. We are very excited to teach our students how they can, at any age, make a difference in someone’s life.

Finally, next Tuesday will be our Thanksgiving Feast.
Due to COVID restrictions, we do have to have to “seatings” for students rather than have the entire school attend at once (maybe next year).
Please be sure to send your student with their water bottle this day. Students who ordered milk for the year will get their milk this day. If your child does not plan on eating the lunch, please send them with a lunch as Marla’s will only be providing the turkey meal, not any other meal.
We still have a few spots left for volunteers if you can help us this day. Please know you need to be Virtus trained and either have a COVID vaccination card on file or provide a negative COVID test on Monday, 11/22.
