My name is Kathy Dati and I will be the Junior High Social Studies and Science teacher at St. Elizabeth this year.
I taught high school history and worked with students in special education in the suburbs of Chicago before I came to St. Tarcissus/PFGA six years ago, where I have mainly taught junior high social studies and religion. I hold a teaching certificate and BA in secondary education with a focus on social sciences/history, a middle school endorsement and am certified as a special education teacher. I have also earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
I’m excited to work with this wonderful community and students this fall. I enjoy sharing my faith with students and watching their faith grow. I hope to make history and science come alive to students, increase literacy and critical thinking skills, and make connections about what we learn to student’s lives.
I grew up and live on the Northwest side of Chicago. I have been married for seven years. I have a daughter, Kiera, who has been baptized St. Elizabeth, and I have a playful cat. I enjoy cooking and watching TV in my free time.
